ACUTE APPENDICITIS 


it is define as inflammation of vermiform appendix.


CLINICAL FEATURE

 anorexia 

 • tachycardia 

 • coated tongue 

 • flushed face 

 • abdominal pain 

 • rigidity in the right illiac fossae

 • rebound tenderness 

 • rovsing sign positive 

 • oblurator sign

 • psoas test positive







D/D 

  • Right ureteric colic

  • ruptured ectopic pregnancy

  • acute diverticulitis

  • acute salpingitis


INVESTIGATION 

  • Urine test 

  • USG of abdomen.

  • x- ray of abdomen 

  • blood test 


TREATMENT

  • NPO 

  • IV fluid 

  • analgesic

  • output- input charting

  • inj antibiotics Ciprofloxacin and metronidazole 


COMPLICATION

  • Peritonitis

  • perforation of appendix

  • appendicular abscess

  • intestinal obstruction
